The Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) is permanent residence through your employer.

• Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) — for 482 holders after 2 years full-time. Usually no new skills assessment.
• Direct Entry — a positive skills assessment and 3 years' experience, without needing a 482 first.

1. Age — generally under 45 at application (some TRT exemptions, for example for high earners)
2. English — Competent English, for example IELTS 6 in each band
3. Salary — at least A$79,423 and the market rate
4. Your employer — a genuine role and a nomination

• Count your full-time months from your 482 grant
• Book your English test a few months early
• Brief your employer at around 18 months
• Keep payslips, contracts and tax records in one place
